Gastroenterology Consultants Receives ESGR: Above and Beyond Award
On May 15, 2013, Autumn Uyechi, RN, BSN, Director of Center Operations, received, on behalf of Gastroenterology Consultants (GIC), the ESGR: Above and Beyond Award for “outstanding service and continuing support of the National Defense.” In order to qualify for this award, a GIC supervisor/manager must have received the Patriot Award. Last August 2012, South Meadows Endoscopy Center (SEC) Supervisor, Melissa Steward, RN, BSN, was awarded the Patriot Award. She was nominated by her employee, Anna Thorburn, RN, of the Nevada Air Guard recognizing Melissa’s hard work as a supervisor, and above all, for the encouragement and support she demonstrates for Anna’s service.
In addition, GIC received “certificates of appreciation” from each of the Senate Offices of Dean Heller, Harry Reid, and Mark Amodei for GIC’s support of the Nevada Guard.
The Nevada Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve (ESGR) is part of the Department of Defense office. ESGR was established in 1972 to promote cooperation and understanding between Reserve Component Service members and their civilian employers and to assist in the resolution of conflicts arising from an employee’s military commitment.
GIC is honored to be a recipient of the ESGR: Above and Beyond Award and proud of the hard work and dedication our employees of the Nevada Guard give GIC each day!
GIC thanks the following employees for their service:
