Dr. James Doyle moved to Reno, Nevada, in October of 2016 to join the physicians of Gastroenterology Consultants. The move to Reno was encouraged after falling in love with the many aspects the area had to offer during a visit. Prior to the relocation, Dr. Doyle owned and managed a 14-employee GI practice in Spokane, Washington, for 25 years.

Dr. Doyle has a strong interest in clinical research, performing over 40 clinical research studies in Spokane. Aside from general gastroenterology, he is fascinated by the expanding area of enteric bacterial flora and its relationship to overall health and evolving linkage with certain disease conditions. With an active interest in the “business side of medicine,” Dr. Doyle hopes to add his two cents worth to GIC in this area with a focus on maintaining patient care integrity and physician sanity in our rapidly changing health care system.

In his spare time, Dr. Doyle finds himself to be at peace when outdoors. He enjoys mountain biking, skiing, paddle boarding, boating, surfing, scuba diving and hiking with his Bernese Mountain dogs. An avid historian of World War II, Dr. Doyle has read thousands of books on the subject. Dr. Doyle has been involved in special needs causes for over 20 years and has helped start a successful autism center and an adult family home.
